Request for GP3 warez draws criticism and jokes

A poster asked whether a pirated copy of Grand Prix 3 was available, which led to criticism of piracy and the argument that Electronics Boutique's return policy removed any try-before-you-buy excuse. Others argued high prices in Australia and New Zealand pushed people to warez. The thread included speculation about GP3's multiplayer support and many jokes from Bruce Kennewell.

OK, perhaps I should have asked (to be more specific) "how is someone in the newsgroup going to commit this act of violence, since we all interact in a virtual world?". I don't think he will get killed, but I could see a rogue virus being packed into a "must have" update file which adds missing features to the pirated copy of GP3 :-) Stephen "Bruce Kennewell" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Did u ever wonder why they do NOT release a demo of GP2? Right, because the game ran like total shit on 99 % of all machines at the time. I'm sure many people felt that in some way GP2 was a rip-off, (Just remember the hype in all magazines about the mega-nice graphics u would only be able to see on your PC 4 years later...). My advice: TRY before you buy. If there is no demo.. go for the warez. Just ask the opinion of people who bought games like Le MANS 24 Hours, .... TRY BEFORE U BUY! I WILL buy GP3, IF its good on my PC. Txl <[email hidden]> schreef in berichtnieuws [email hidden]... > you are going to get yourself killed by asking this here.....it is ofcourse

It's good point. In this world where release dates don't happen it is usually a good yardstick as to whether a product is imminent or not. Us insecure Crammondophiles need any information that give us an indication is to whether things are carrying on according to plan or not. Don't slaughter Danny when it was a perfectly reasonable question. Just downloaded F1 2000 myself - that's a joke by the way. (I'll wink if I'm telling a joke OK?) Jon Large Danny wrote: > Wondering

Good Point! To all u self righteous Warez haters. Here in NZ a game costs $100+, I for one and bloody glad I tried the Warez version of F1 2000 before I plonked down $100 for that crap. yup, they could but a burn and return likely permits u to patch the sim.... the warez rip likely not... I'm not condoning warez or rippin off the people who program these past times that give us soo much pleasure. I have dabbled in warez myself, and if i find it worthwhile (ie stays on my HDD for more than a week) I buy it. If we were all to just download warez versions it wouldn't be long before there would be no warez to download, oh and hey nothing to give us hours of enjoyment cuz the software houses have gone bankrupt. Now Now Bruce dog sorry about the name thing... dunno why I thought i was replyin to Dave H lol But tis true, back in the old days patches did exist, but not near as common as today, where budgets don't permit the proper beta testing for these complex programs. Hell in the old days a sim would fit on a coupla floppies, not a whole lot of stuff to debug, compared to now when its 500mb on a cd, and has to support a gagillion diferent system configurations... Yes, when I buy a car I: Spend 5 hours looking at it... Unwrap the packaging of paint until it's the right colour, Drive it out of the showroom window... Steal it, Tell other people where to steal it, Test it out, Then tell the showroom clerk it wasn't good enough.
