He said 50-70 feet, not millimeters! That's what, 20 meters
in the air? That's a big f(*&ing jack!

THEY NASTY!!
Lol just completed a coupla races on the german track. The AI while as
good or better than any I've seen, is pretty stupid too..
I saw the AI miss chicanes several times to end up in the gravel. They
block very agressively, even to the point of trying to move over when u
are beside them. Twice I was tagged by an AI car trying a last minute
blocking maneuver. They are very bold on entry to the chicanes, and
will attempt to outbrake u there consistently.
Overall I like it, tho i've not owned a modern F1 sim ever, or CART for
that matter. The graphics aren't great with all the pixellation. MPBT
has better graphics. The TREES though in GP3 are great and fer once
even look like trees.
I've noticed there are NO other car sounds in game besides your own..
perhaps this is something that won't be amiss in the retaiil version. I
haven't seen floating cars on the track yet, just seen them floating 2ft
in the air in the pits.
Game runs just fine on my system:
Celery 266 clocked to 448
128 mb ram
V3 3000
Awe64
All forward detail on mirrors low as they'll go @ 800x600
There are no options that i could see to change the # of cars drawn, or
even to race against, so my impressions are based on a full field on a
clear day!! haven't run a race in the wet yet. My guess is i'll have to
reduce details further for the wet. My frames do slow abit during the
congestion of the first coupla turns, once the cars start to spread out
things improve, yet its never unplayable. I don't run it down to the
slowmo effect, tho I did see that when I tried at 1024.
BTW my Hockenheim pb 1:44.265
Unless something can be done to make this sim playable online, I won't
be purchasin it.

Marty, in GP2 the cars were in the air in the pits, I believe this is to
simulate them being on the jacks. Not sure if its the same in GP3 (don't
have it).
ds
Yeah i kinda assumed that too, so don't consider it a problem

Don't count on it.

Was it Schu? Because then this is justified behavior.

Gotta smile reading this.... I remember in GP2 that if I left the game
running while my car was sitting in the pits, I could come back an 20
minutes or so later and my car would be floating about 50-70 feet in the
air. <G> Sounds like this bug is still in the code.... ;-)

This appears to be a feature of all of Geoff Crammond F1 simulators.
If you have substantial CPU poser (like P3-600 and above), I
suggest F1 2000. You can hear the cars come up on you and
pass, very much 3D positional sound on 2 speakers...

Yep, but MGPRS2 still does positional audio better. I can't believe
that GP3 has no AI car sounds still. This and a few other problems
means a no-buy for sure from me.

I think this isn't a bug...it's probably supposed to be the cars raised up
on the lifters that are used to change tires (no clue what they are called).

The also decided to keep the "predetermined race failure"
thingy from gp2. Nakano stopped at the same spot down to the
metre with gearbox problems in a saved race. Also, still no
stop/go penalties, just the stupid black flack reducing HP for
10 seconds. I wonder if tyre wear is even modelled, given all
the legacy from gp2.

I didn't clearly respond. Michael said GP3must have the same same bug, while
I meant to say this isn't a bug in GP3 because the guy (SKurj) said it was
only up 2ft in pitlane, which must mean that they are raised on jacks...
SKurj said nothing about F1 Airlines....I think Crammond got a few bugs
removed in his repackaged game.

has alot more feedback than we do. The sound of a car nearby results in
better gameplay. Tho GP3's gameplay is real good as is, it still would
be nice to have just abit more feedback

I never got a black flag in GP2. How did you do that...?
