I forgot an 's', that's two Diamond Monster2's here.
Therefor my remark about the resolution; with 12MB SLI it
should allow for 1024x768. Just in case, the drivers report
as D3D Driver Version 4.12.01.1151.

GP3 does not recognise Diamond Monster Voodoo2 cards
Andre Warringa could not get GP3 to recognise his Diamond Monster Voodoo2 SLI cards, even after adding the SLI flag in cards.txt and updating drivers. Others with working Voodoo2s compared Direct3D driver versions 4.11 and 4.12 and suggested removing Diamond's drivers. The version number did not turn out to be the cause, and no fix was found.
Automated summary.

Did you try the SLI flag as described in the readme?
Well I didn't have to, it recognized my 12MB V2 immediately.
The resolution is limited to 800x600 though. They apparently
have no clue.

Aaarrgghh this is driving me nuts!
I have 2 Diamond Monster V2 8mb SLI cards, and GP3 won't reckognize
it. I turned SLI off, but the card is still greyed out in the graphic
options screen.
I read lots of problems with v2 cards on GP3 forums, but no clear
solution yet.
Did anyone with a Diamond Monster V2 8mb card, or the SLI combination,
get it working in GP3? And... h-o-w ?
Thanks,
Andre

Yes, I did that, but after that it still didn't reckognize my V2 card.
Just to test it I then removed the SLI flag again, and turned SLI off.
Still not working... :(
What brand is your card btw?

Yes, that's the one that are installed with the driver package from
3dfx. Pretty funny, since I'm using the 27 Jan 2000 driver as well.
I've just doublechecked but no typo, it says 4.12. ... here.

Yeah, that's most likely.
If you still have a driver package from Diamond around, you could
open it in Winzip and check for the files it's installing. Then you
can search for these files on your Windows and delete them.
After that reinstall the 3dfx drivers just to be sure.

Andre,
I'm that other guy.
My 2 Voodoo2's are:
1 STB BlackMagic and 1 3Dfx Voodoo 2000. I know, I know -- I'm lucky that I got
2 different manufacturer's cards to work together, but the STB card was
supposedly the one least "modified" by other manufacturers. As I reacll, I
originally ahd problems setting them up together, but once I got things ironed
out, I've had no problems since with any game. (Knock Wood). BTW, even with
this set up, GP3 only runs in 800x600 max, but runs smoothly. (after doing the
card.txt thing.)
I'm using the latest (at least I think they are) reference drivers and DirectX
7a.
If you need more specific info let me know, but please be specific as to where I
can find it (ie - exact driver versions etc.).
Wish that I could be more help to you.
Good Luck.
Bert

Bert, just to make sure, what is your D3D version?
Go to Program Files -> DirectX -> Setup -> DXDiag -> go to the menu

that screen is the version (for me it's 4.11.01.1151, it should be

Pretty funny, since I'm using the 27 Jan 2000 driver as well. >I've just doublechecked but no typo, it says 4.12. ... here.Andre,
I followed your instructions. My Voodoo2 driver is 3dfxV2.drv and the version is
4.11.01.0441
The funny thing is that it says that it's a DirectX 6 driver, while under the tab for
System. it says that I have DirectX7 installed.
Something might not be exactly right, but I don't careas long as it works.
Hope this helps you.

Same as me. Someone else posted me that he did have the 4.12 version
(which I don't get even after reinstalling everything completely,
still 4.11) but GP3 also doesn't reckognize his V2 card. So I guess
the version number isn't the cause after all.

Yup, that's weird :) I have DX7a installed, and under system it also
says correctly DX7.

I can imagine that :)

Uhh... no, but thanks anyway :)
