Yep, there is a lot of similarity. That should be expected, since it's the
same team working on it. I've done the alpha and beta previews, and it looks
good so far- much better than I expected.

How big is MGI now? Seems they get a lot done, in a short time, with a
small number of core programmers. One tidbit I picked up that impresses me
(along with all the others) is that the engine sound depends not only on
engine speed, but throttle position. Does anyone else do that? Believe me,
there is a huge difference between a big 4-barrel running wide open (small
animals tend to get sucked in from the side of the track) and with the
throttle plates closed. I know games like NFS and older Nascar games have a
difference between accelerating and decelerating, but was it really tied
into throttle position. Someone remind me if the noise changes in Papy sims
when you roll on the throttle.

p.s. those Nascar fans really need to shop around a little for their RVs...
looks like everyone at Sears Point bought the same model.

After watching all of the available videos, it sure looks like Viper Racing
to me.
Sal V.
Nascar Heat is a descendant of Viper Racing just as Nascar 4 is a descendant of
GPL.

retained this trait.

I notice a certain similarity in "feel", but I still kind of like the feel of
Viper racing better. Although that maybe in part due to my dislike for oval
racing, and the fact that the Nascar vehicles are not street vehicles like the
Viper, and tend to be more stable and consequently less fun, perhaps.
Well, since they were both written by the same excellent programming team
(MGI) I'd say there are probably some similarities :)
