Well, it is about 8 months older than GP2, if that gives you some perspective. :) The Rendition 3D version was (is) extremely nice, but you have to have a Rendition video card to enjoy it. It's still a good sim for those with older machines (ie: Pentium I and no 3D), but those used to today's sims graphics may be disappointed (just remember, its almost 5 years old and 640x480x8-bit was good back then; Rendition 16-bit color was outstanding :). Defintely get a copy. You can buy David Noonan's track converter and convert almost all of the tracks from CART to GPL! Well worth your $10. -/-WW "Jonathan" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:lItf5.1728$[email hidden]... > New to racing SIMS, have GPL and NFS and saw an inexpensive CART game. Isit

New to racing SIMS, have GPL and NFS and saw an inexpensive CART game. Is it any good? -- Otter

Hey They CART game from Papyrus is Indycar Racing II (They redid the box because I think ICR2 was released before the CART/IRL split). Anyhow, this sim was released before NASCAR Racing 2 (this is actually where the physics engine for N2 came from, it was quite revolutionary from N1 just like GPL is going to be for N4.) Anyhow, I'm sure this CART Racing is about $10-$15, I suggest that for $10-$15 you pick up SportsCar GT by ISI/EA. Excellent fun, until Friday I imagine it can be called the #1 Offline racing simulation. The rain/night condition racing is a blast. Plus there are 4 class (GT1, GT2, GT3, and GTQ.) Also, you can pickup Dirt Track Racing by Ratbag (or soon Dirt Track Racing: Sprint Cars) for about $20, excellent sim indeed! ds Jonathan wrote in message ... >New to racing SIMS, have GPL and NFS and saw an inexpensive CART game. thx ds I also found this review on Alison Hines site http://simracing.com/alison/sims/icr2.htm looks like Papyrus reissued it as CART like you wrote. Also It is NFS PU , didn't specify that in my earlier post. -- Otter "Daniel Shirley" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:ZKtf5.1581$[email hidden]... > Hey > They CART game from Papyrus is Indycar Racing II (They redid the box because > I think ICR2 was released before the CART/IRL split). Papyrus's CART Racing, formerly known as IndyCar Racing 2 or ICR2 to for short, is an older sim, from 1995, that is still pretty popular for its age. It's a great game, a blast to drive. I advise that you pick it up and join the CORAL offline racing league (http://members.aol.com/sctracks/coral ) and have some fun! ----------------------------------------- Dan Belcher Team Racing Unlimited http://simcrash.00game.com

Will Indy Car Racing II run on an Athlon 800/GeForce DDR/Windows 98/MSFFW? I've had that game for years, but I think I remember it 'breaking' somewhere along the line. I'd love to play it again if it will work with newer hardware... -Larry "Kevin Gavitt" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:eYvf5.17236$[email hidden]... > > "Jonathan" <[email hidden]> wrote in message > news:lItf5.1728$[email hidden]... > > New to racing SIMS, have GPL and NFS and saw an inexpensive CART game.Is
