Thanks, Kevin. I was so distracted by the Chaparral that I didn't even notice the others. This could be fun! As close to GTL as we'll ever see I guess. Although Papy should take a look at the traffic at GPLEA tonight and perhaps they'd reconsider...8^). Then again, I bet some of the GPL wizards could come up w/a patch to do it. I saw somewhere that someone was working on a -Batmobile- ! Heresy! Heresy! J. P. Hovercraft Kevin Gavitt wrote:

I finally managed to get all the cars about 4 am ET and as usual GPLEA got it right. They even simulated the Chap's 3 sp automatic transmission by bunching up the 3/4/5 gears while the Ferrari has all 5 and the Ford GT has 4 speeds by bunching 4 and 5. I was able to get in a few laps and one 30 minute race last night. Initial impressions are that the Ferrari handles quite well but is down on top speed. The Chaparral is fast but VERY skittish. If you drive it hard into the corners you can conquer the snap oversteer it wants to do but I didn't have enough time to be consistant. The Ford GT Mk IV is a brute -- that's the car I used in a race at Hockenheim where it was faster than any other car by miles, but sloppy in the chicanes. I finished 5th on the basis of my own numerous miscues and trips to the kitty litter. I haven't yet tried the Mk II, Lola or Mirage. I also had one of the Aussie supercars in there from an earlier download and it did very well for itself. It was funny to see a Falcon holding it's own against the Ferraris... The AI are their usual very aggressive selves. One of the Mirages took a great deal of pleasure from slamming the door on me at every opportunity and watching me loop into the scenery from locking up the brakes. Congrats to everyone at GPLEA for allowing me to revisit my teenage fantasies. I was 15 in 1967 and absolutely LOVED the Ford GT. Now all we need is LeMans for SCGT and I'll just lock myself in here and not come out for a month.
