Getting a Logitech force-feedback wheel working in GP3

Users with the retail GP3 struggled to get Logitech and other USB wheels recognised, with no split-axis support. Tony Whitley suggested loading the Logitech control set from the CD and enabling combined pedals, and Stephen Barnett found the wheel worked when assigned as the second controller. Others called it the worst controller setup they had used.

I have the german retail-version, bought today, and no split-axis!!! Rolf Greg Cisko schrieb:

Solution! Throw away my new LWFF USB wheel, and set up my old MSFF non-USB wheel! Hows that for crappy GP3 software. Steve Steve wrote in message <8lsajp$hso$[email hidden]>... >Thanks Tony, I hadn't spotted the 'Extras'. But alas no luck. The gamestill

I must be the stupidest person in the world (no don't all agree at once), but how the f**k do you get the LWFF to work in GP3? It doesn't seem to want to recognise the pedals, and I can't change gear. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Steve :-(

Got mine running straight off. Have you loaded "E:\Extras\Control Sets\logitech_wingman_wheel.con" from the CD? Also you must click Report Combined Pedals in the Global Device Settings in the LW Profiler, that sounds like the cause of your pedal problem (no spilt-axis in this game). The only change I made to the controller settings was to have different paddles for up and downshift, at first the left paddle did both according to the throttle pedal. But can anyone tell me how to get "change car setup" in the pits? Gear up/down drops me off the jacks and none of the buttons do anything. Try setting the Report Combined Pedals option in Control Panel/Game Controllers Properties/Settings as well for the pedals. I haven't tried the buttons myself yet. Also check www.bhmotorsports.com GP3 Utils for an LWFF set-up. Tony Whitley Steve <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8lsajp$hso$[email hidden]... > Thanks Tony, I hadn't spotted the 'Extras'. But this is still a single-axis game! I bet Geoff doesn't even play his own game anymore. Can't be! Single-axis. Sja! Ok I take it back. I reconnected the LWFF and it appears in ID slot#2 (#1 being the MSFF), and now it works in GP3. If I change it to slot #1 it doesn't work. Goes against my instinct, so I must have some screwed software? Wish I hadn't bothered though.... Steve ;-) John Burton wrote in message ...

Mine is in slot 1 and works using the profile given on the cd, but I must say the game has the worst controller setup utility i have ever come across -- John Burton
