GP3 better on Matrox Mystique G200 than my Diamond Voodoo2, any ideas why?

Could it be that this game was ported especially for Direct3D versus 3dfx? Plus, my Matrox has only 8megs while my Voodoo2 has 12megs. I've tried all the tweaks, even Matti Laitinen's gp3frame utility. Oh well, graphics look a lot more vivid and not washed out on my Matrox. Guess GPL is the only game I need my Voodoo2 for now. BTW, I'm running a Celeron II-566 overclocked to 850mhz w/64megs sdram. TIA

Your specs are the same as mine except that I have 160meg ram and two voodoo2 cards in SLI mode. My matrox is a g200 Marvel and I get the same grafix as you. Much better on the Matrox, and with the Voodoo 2's, the wind mirrors show grafix of the steering wheel, and not whats behind the car. Strange ... Cheers.....Ken

FWIW while trying to get my Techworks V2 (8M) to run with a PO less than 600%, I played with the h/w acceleration setting (Desktop/Properties/Settings/Advanced/Performance) and anything other than "full" moved the mirrors to the steering wheel (as well as in the wing mirrors IIRC). But the 3dfx cards will do Direct3D so there really is no excuse for it not working. > Plus, my Matrox has only 8megs while my Voodoo2 has 12megs. Memory has nothing to do with it. > I've tried all the tweaks, even Matti Laitinen's gp3frame utility. > > Oh well, graphics look a lot more vivid and not washed out on my Matrox. > > Guess GPL is the only game I need my Voodoo2 for now.
