No, it means you drove more than 12 laps (the 12th one is the return lap) and
got a DQF. Just like in GP2, where I do believe rubbing the plank simply slows
you down put there is no penalty.
I've been trying out some monza set-ups for qualifying.
I was on lap 10 of my 12 when 'Must Pit Now!' flashed up on my LCD
Ignored it coz I was on a good hot lap, crossed the line and Noticed
the plank part of the damage icon was flashing red, Pitted and then
noticed I had gone from 3rd on grid to 22, with no time displayed,
so I guess plankwear rules are modelled,
Alan
I've been playing GP2 since release, and believe it or not, I have
mastered the art of knowing which lap I'm on *sigh*
Read the original post, I was on lap 10, and when the plank is rubbing,
or anything on your car is damaged it goes yellow, not red, Since
posting this originally my brother and I have been playing with the
set-up that caused this and we have managed to duplicate the same effect
on as low as lap 6 (we were reducing ride height to see in we could
produce more plank wear)

the pits (still on lap 11) and pitted?? Where did lap 12 come from?
