Im not any good at setting up the car, i just play around with the
ratios and the wing settings, i got no idea about the rest of the
stuff, or what it does.
I can however memorise a track and where exactly the limit is on each
turn within an hour or so, probably less.

Ok, this one has really stumped me, many some of you might know.....
GP3 is out about a week now with warez and all. For arguments sake lets say
7 days. The game is downloaded, give that a few hours. Then for the rest of
that day you look through all the options and stuff of GP3 set it up for
your liking and race around getting a feel for the game.
Your now down to 6 days. That would mean that on average you would need to
be able to create a perfect set-up from, scratch, learn the track inch by
inch and post a sub-normal time in the space of an hour or two at most, and
you'd need to do about an average of 3 tracks a day.
Then post those hotlaps to somewhere like BH Motorsports.com
Now, All I ask is, how do you learn a track so well, create such a perfect
setup and manage to do sub-normal times in the space of an hour or so. I
doubt they spend much more on the track these hotlappers, They must eat and
sleep and see sunlight like the rest of us I would imagine.
How do they do it? It usually takes me weeks and months to do really great
times in a sim on one track alone. Since in an hour or two these guys and
break lap records in a few months they'll be lapping Hockenheim in less than
a minute you'd nearly think.
How do you/they do it?
WOW !!!
That would take me 3 lifetimes to replicate !!!

Ofcourse some are good. But i can tell you one thing. For example F1 2000.
Look at bhmotorsports.com. Go to 'guides'. And read how they improve their
car. I personnaly find this cheating. Ofcourse they never admit that.
But I raced for example 1:09 at Austria in F1 2000 after racing more than
hundred laps. So pretty good i think. But then you see a hotlap 4 secs
faster. Ofcourse some are better than others, but 4 secs difference has
absolutly to do with editing some things. For example, download the setups
they used. You will see much wings. By cheating they get more horsepower and
can set the wings pretty high, so they have speed and downforce then.....
I wont use this tricks.
I dont know if this is the same with GP3, but i only know they are always
people who are so smart to change things outside of the regular menus.

Well... i just explain how they manage to do it. And they cannot race a time
like that without editing stuff. I personnally find, if others dont know how
to race such times, that you should give that information to them too. I can
tell you, i dont use the replay manager, but with the editing, i would be in
hall of fame in at least 5 tracks. So thats too easy... Call it what you
want, its just they dont do it in the regular way!!! (and i find that
cheating, because the game is not supposed to play in that way)

I'm also proud of mines in F1 2000. I like it if someone is really
competitive. I play races online in F1 2000. The only thing i wanna know
then, is that we race with the same conditions (besides the setups of the
cars). Maybe you can understand a bit what i mean. I am not saying that with
editing files, the games are easy to play. O no... its just i wanna let some
people know where the guys get their advantage.

Ah,I see. We're at cross-purposes here. I thought you were referring to
GPL (where that option isn't possible).

OK, I've looked at the Setup guide at Blackhole Motorsports, and
frankly I can't see anything wrong with it. It's fairly standard
(though very detailed) advice of the "increase toe-in to stop
wandering" variety. Every setup guide I've read has something of this
sort.
If you're seriously suggesting that players should develop their setups
entirely alone, you're in a very small minority. It just isn't how mist
of us do it.

Never said that. I only say that the feature 'enable identical player
vehicle' gives Mcl and Ferrari 30 to 40 more horsepower. Just like that. So
thats without even changing normal carsettings. That was all... So just
explaining to guys who did work hard on their settings and dont understand
why they cannot run times like in the Hall of Fame (especially not with the
settings you can download over there). The settings that are available on
such sites are many times settings which you should use in combination with
the feature i mentioned before.
I hope, now its clear ....

GraDee, it's just statistics... Most everything in the world "bell curves"
out, the bulk of the sample in the middle of the curve, a tiny minority at
the top and bottom ends of the curve.
So, then, if there are 100,000 people who bought GP3, there might be 10,000
that we would count as "serious" sim-drivers. Of that 10,000 "serious"
drivers, one half of one percent, or 20 drivers total, are going to have
posess a skill level that looks like cheating to the rest of us.
Those folks, Huttu, Woeger, and the rest, are the Sennas and Shumachers of
the sim-racing world. No cheating involved, just a mindboggling level of
giftedness.
In the online GPL community, there are frequent joking references to the
"Alien Driver Class". The joke is based on the fact described in the
paragraph above.
See you on the track,
Chris Noto.
