Ah, but maybe he owns the rights to foreign translations too, like
Bernie does with Formula One. So games have to use a slightly wrong
translation.
Anyway, AIUI from 1999 onwards it isn't a problem.

Anyone else think it's already time we got a FAQ project started, I
really can't be bothered to keep telling ppl this one,
(BTW Deadcalm John Newhouse is Jaqcues Villeneuve)

Didn't Newhouse play for the Steelers when they had the steel Curtain?

Actually, I believe you're all mistaken. The English translation of Jacques
Villeneuve is Jack Newtown. John in French is Jean.
I'm sure Microprose was aware of this but they probably elected to chose a
similar name to not infringe on any trademarks and such. Considering how
lawsuit- happy some people are, it might be a good thing : )

Start writing it then :-) After all, if you like helping people out...

FAQ's are like Readme files. More often than not, they sit in a dark dingy
root directory, totally un read until the day the computer is destroyed thru
frustration that somethings doesn't work

They can't use Jaques Villeneuve
John Newhouse sounds ok, and is loosly based on villeneuve
Just BLOODY CHANGE IT IN GP3 and be done with it. If you can't actually
type, then download the new name's file from your nearest GP3 website. I
recommend www.alphaf1.com/gp3

And he seems to be the same guy who pushes the cars away, judging by his
face. I have seen this guy a lot in the last few days (mostly when it
rains).
Speaking of pushing the cars away, last night I watched my car get winched
up by the crane at Spain (drives mainly on the plain?) and then get
transported all the way across the track to the other side. Odd. The other
drivers didn't seem to mind. By the way, while they are at it putting fun
little bitmaps of some dopey looking guy pushing the car, can they also put
the "monkey on my back" guy who sits on the nose of the car when it gets
lifted into the air? Better yet, can they add a little polygon crane that
comes along and whacks the driver in the back of the head? Or maybe gets
bogged down in the Silverstone gravel traps. Can we get the Suzuka
marshalls, with their 1960's Godzilla-movie white helmets, to come swarming
in a pack of about one hundred and push the car in 18 different directions?
Ah well, guess I will just have to imagine it all.

to be associated with him.
