I was sat in the Monza pits, and there were 14 cars on the track. So your '8
AI Car Limit' is a load of rubbish.
And if the AI cars were to use all 12 laps in 15 minutes, the track would be
too busy all the time. If you have a full hour qualifying, then it might
make sense.

I had a qual were it was getting dry towards the end but half of the field
did not even go out in the last minutes. It seems that there is a limit of 8
AI cars on the track at any time during qualifying. This of course resulted
in Mika Hakkinen being 17th on the grid, 5 seconds of the pace.
I don't even think that the AI uses all 12 laps in qual and that is just
stupid. If a patch does not solve this, lets hope that someone can hack
this. I doubt that though................

Then again, all drivers do not always use all the laps available due to extended
garage work, mechanical trouble, spinning out etc. I remember in GP2 if an AI
car crashed badly in the qualifying it would get no time at all as a result. My
only gripe is that GP2/3 doesn't really model that final 15 minutes "rush hour".

Hmm. My experience with F12K qualifying has been very different. The AI seem
to almost always use all 12 laps. However, they seem to rarely improve on their
times later in the session, which is very different from real life.

I have it happen in probably 80-85% of my races. I'll do my 12 laps, then sit

successive AI laps aren't close. After I get bored of watching in real time,
I'll accelerate the qual. All of a sudden the AI post laps a second or two
faster than mine, and I'm in 5th or 6th place on the grid. The most laps I see
for the AI is about 7...
Maybe there's a setting somewhere I'm missing...

One thing I've noticed, the game does some different things based on the seemingly
unrelated AI strength. I drove several races with the AI strength around 85%.
When I entered the pits and hit my rev limiter, my car only went 35 mph, even
though in F1 the speed limit is 50 mph. I figured this was perhaps due to the
gearing or something but didn't do anything about it. I then drove a race with
the AI at 100 percent. With no changes to the car setup, my speed in the pits
with the rev limiter engaged went up to 50 mph. Very odd.

I just tried this again. I ran a race on Thursday at Hungary. Ran my twelve laps
fairly quickly (in about 25 minutes). Then accelerated the AI. Everyone in the
field finished all 12 of their laps. Curious.

This is is suppossed to happen, during the trainings and qualifying the
speed in the pits is lower than during a race.
