hay, minor victory I had to share: my second novice win at Spa :) I put it up if you want to look at it (3meg) http://home.flash.net/~rsquires/spa_rms_win.ZIP My first win was earlier today, and really exciting, there were a couple of lead changes and I caught up with the leader right at the apex of the final turn La Source, tapped him out of the way from behind, and took the win. But I fouled up and didn't get a replay. So here's the second win. I didn't go incredibly fast but the replay does show some things I learned about races against the ai. First, you pretty much have to start on the front row, otherwise slower cars in front of you will cause the leaders to gain too much ground on you which you can't make up. Second, cars in back of you will try to pass, usually on the inside, so you have to move over immediately upon starting to cut them off. Third, right after the start is your best chance to catch the ai leader, as they start out slower than on subsequent laps and you can catch them by being aggressive, late braking into a corner and getting the inside position. I demonstrate this in this replay. I did make one mistake causing a pile-up, but it wasn't fatal to any of those involved and the race continued! rms [email hidden]

Front row? That ain't gonna happen soon. I think the highest I've qualified at Spa was about 9th...
