Regular Racer 05 Aug 2000 22:19 UTC#245047
All help is greatly appreciated. 1) Here's my system: Pentium 3/550 - 128mb RAM 8mb ATI All In Wonder Pro/12mb Voodoo 2 PCI 2) So what I'm asking, is this, what would be the better upgrade for me: --Trash All in Wonder Pro and buy a Voodoo 3 3000? or --Trash my All in Wonder Pro and buy an ATI Rage Fury Maxx and keep the PCI Voodoo 2? 3) I seem to remember a post a while back about the ATI not compatible with a certain game. ( I hope not GPL ). Thanks for any help

I've had both a V3 3000 & ATI Maxx64mb (currently running a GF2 GTS), If they're your only choice's I'd definitely go with the ATI Maxx it's a lot faster and can quite happily run up to 1600x1200 on most games at 25+fps , it'll run GP3 on a PIII 500 @1280x1024 max detail <=100% PO (about 120% on start) not to mention there's not a great deal of difference apart from resolution between V2 and the V3 so keep the V2 in if you have any old glide games you still want to play. As for compatibility with GPL I'll try it tomorrow and let you know (My machine at work has an ATI Maxx/P3,500) Cheers , Jason Regular Racer <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:1q0j5.784$[email hidden]...

Yah, I cured it by disabling one of the Rage processors. Now it works fine. But now, get this.....Just picked up GP3 today...In dual processor mode, it sucks at 640x480.......However......At 800x600 and 1024x728, it runs smooth as glass with all graphics options turned on? Go figure eh? "Jason" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:%Gwk5.11485$[email hidden]...
