How is Midtown Madness?
Hi John - I'll assume you're talking about the original Midtown Madness, the
second version (due out soon) seems to be more of the same - more cities,
more cars, a little more detail, a couple of new racing modes, but similar
in spirit.
IMO, Midtown Madness still gives me the best impression of being in the
midst of a functioning city. Slicing through traffic, finding obscure
shortcuts down an alley, a variety of street layouts (not all 90 degree
corners), all add to the fun. The cities in another game, Driver, did not
feel as realistic. However, it had an enjoyable storyline as the basis for
it's 'missions'.
The vehicle physics in MM are pretty arcade-like. It would have been great
to have some of the cars (like the Eldorado) & trucks exhibit high roll
angles or a sense of mass that you would struggle to control.
As I recommend with any of these games, grab the demo and try it out - your
impressions may vary...

Played it for about a week. Now it sits on the shelf gathering dust.
