I've got a UK version of GPL . The gpl.exe is on 1.0.0.0
When I try and run the 1.1 or 1.2 patches, it fails to work, stating that I
have an incorrect version. I've got a Ferrari FF wheel and want to get force
feedback running

Ian, go here: http://www.papy.com/downloads/
You'll notice there are six different versions of the 1.2 upgrade
patch, make sure your using the correct one. Don't install 1.1, go
directly to 1.2 Also, if your using a Nvidia chip based video card be
sure to get the D3D patch as well.

party patches (eg drvier names patches etc) which change the GPL.exe. The
solution is to copy the original GPL.exe across from the CD before patching with
the 1.2 patch. You will of course then have to re-patch with the third party
patches. How many times can I get the word 'patch' into a post?! :-)
Hope this helps,
Neil

CORE.INI file in order to enable FF. Open the file and about 2/3 of the way
down, you'll find the [Joy] section. Change the Allow FF value to 1 (from 0) to
enable FF.

Damping: 0.000000
Latency 0.025000
Force: 200.000000 (you can go stronger, ie. 100 but I find it too much work)
Also remove spring and damping to zero on your windows controller screen
and be sure to put it in "3-axis mode", just check the box in the
calibration screen (windows). And lastly, dont use any centering force, GPL
does all the necessary forces.
Marko.

Go to www.papy.com and download the UK patch.
If you've got the Sierra Originals version, the you will also have to go to
www.gamecopyworld.com and get the no CD patch for 1.2 UK version...

Try reading the other posts next time....
From my earlier post (in the same thread)
"Go to www.papy.com and download the UK patch.

You've got the Sierra Originals version - and they removed the copy
protection from it... there is nothing on the CD to tell the patch (which
does still have the copy protection) that it is a legit copy. So go and get
that No CD patch and have fun...

I got caught out by his too (being another GPL newby I'd never bothered to
read the GPL topics until Monday when I bought the "originals" version.
Looks like there might be a "flood" of similar questions over the next few
weeks as others take advantage of the cheapo. FAQ anyone??
