I was getting texture corruption during races and slow framerate with full
fields until I tried this patch:
http://www.thenorwaypits.com/owheel/gpl/files/glide2x.zip
I set the mirror update to 2, and now these problems are gone. An added
benefit is that monitor mode switching is greatly reduced, which I think
saves alot of wear on the monitor circuitry. What a great patch!!

Do you have an official 1.2 patch for GPL ?
I ever thought that GPL 1.2 (it is 1.2, right ? ) is free of glitches with
voodoo 3

Texture corruption doesn't always happen but when it does it gets
progressively worse.

Anyone tried this patch with Voodoo3 cards? When I used it the menu screens
come up in a corner of the screen, which is fine, but the mouse pointer was
gone as well, so its unusable. Any tips appreciated!!

Sorry for the question, not an answer :
Why do you need OpenGL with voodoo in GPL ? (OGL in
GPL ...POGL...GOPL)
No, I'm serious, I've tried it coupla times but it was much worse than Glide
with my old Voodoo 3.
But I left all the default settings.
The bug with mouse pointer sometimes appears, when you have AGP
aperture ? ) size in BIOS set to more than 4 Mb.
You won't need it anyway, 'cause Voodoo doesn't support AGP texturing. But
do not forget to set it to 128 when you decide to buy NVidia based card !

gpl just exits if you rename one of these to opengl32.dll and the default
just shows a black screen on entry into a race, so a failure all the way
around.

Hi Roger,
Use the 3Dfx Glide drivers for Voodoo cards -- it's the dedicated API for 3Dfx
cards hence it is the fastest.
