It's great isn't it? And it just keeps getting better.

It's been asked many times, and the answer is no. In a short time
you'll get a handle on the sense of speed and you won't want it
anyway.

There is a program that will do this for you, and if you plow through
your read.me files I believe you can do it by editing yourself. But
think about it Erwan, it's a sim, not an arcade game, and your racing
the best F1 drivers of the era. Do you think you should be beating
them at this stage? As you get better you will eventually be able to
win against them, better to leave it as a challenge.

Well, that wouldn't help me with the pit lane speed limit, because I'm not at
max. revs. But it would help me estimate what my speed is on the track.
Actually, I don't even know what the lines on the tach stand for. I mean, is
5000 rpm at the 9 o'clock position, 7 o'clock, what?

You should read the Stirling Moss autobiography. Stirling descriibes all his
cars and refers to revcounter readings all the time. You know in what gear
you are and you can read the revcounter. Then you can calculate/estimate the
speed (provided ther is now wheelspin).
You can use the replays to provide some fixed points (read the speed just
before upshifting and you know what the speed is at max rev in the xth
gear). Then you can quite accurately estimate your speed.

Get some dashes from that GPL Spares Factory site... they look great and you
can read the tachs on those, even in 640x480!!
