I found that you have to go to above 60% distance to bring pitstops in
to play.

Just won my first championship race. Driving a Mclaren as DC, I only won by
accidentially nudging Schumaker and Hakkinen off the track while following
too closely into a corner and braking late.
While it was obviously within the rules, as I didn't get disqualified or
anything, I do not feel comfortable with my win. Schumaker might have been
fair game, but I'm sure Ron Dennis would like a word with me about Hakkinen.
Should I mentally forfeit my points? Should I let these guys pass in the
next race? Should I exploit the tactics? In real life I reckon people lose
their front wing in this situation.
Other question: Is it possible to enjoy the exitement of pitstops without
doing the full race distance? What would be a good compromise?

As a good will jesture, at the next race id let them both pass you at
the start :)
Then you can say you acted sportsmanlike and it was a genuine mistake

How about racing in an 'easy' mode and a 20 lap race, where you
are a bit faster than everybody else (who wont be stopping), but
promise yourself beforehand that you'll be stopping at the end
of lap 10.
You'll be doing qualifying laps the whole way to make up the
distance.
