No, you can't, the Voodoo3 has a texture size of 256 x 256. Works fine on a Voodoo5 under D3D though. Regardless, I wonder why the GPLSF crew just don't split the single dash texture into two or more smaller textures. The dash is already split into several triangles, just subdivide the fat center triangle down the middle and use a right and left dash texture. - George

Textures are on a per polygon basis (or more precisely part of a texture specified by offsets) referenced by a number which is then mapped to a name, any and all of which can be changed with the proper tools. - George

Hi guys, First George is right, you can't use the hi-res texture with a voodoo 3. Second, I never thought of the split texture idea....let me look into that.... thanks, KD - GPLSF "George M. Smiley" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:BYjk5.51$[email hidden]...

Hi Guys.... I've just downloaded the GPL SF Eagle 3 Dash. This dash has a high and a low resolution .MIP for the dashboard. When i use the low res. .MIP everything is fine, however when i use the hi res. .MIP, GPL gives me an error stating "Can't load track". I've got a V3 3000 AGP card with the newest drivers (1.05), and the way that i understand it, i should be able to use the high res. file on a V3, although with a hit in framerate? Has anybody else had this problem? If so, does anybody have a solution? Ooh, and by the way, a BIIIIG thanks to GPL SF for creating this dash, it's beautiful! Lars G. PS: Gotta go do some more racing at Solitude, man, what a track! :-)

Wow fast answer, thanks very much George. About the left and right texture idea, i think that is because GPL expects the .MIP file to have a certain name, and therefore you can't split it up. On the other hand, what the hell do i know :-) Lars G. On Wed, 9 Aug 2000 15:30:08 -0500, "George M. Smiley" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Regardless of the voodoo card issue, I can't get it to work either on my TNT2 ultra. All the other GPLSF dashes are fine but eagle3 gives me the 'cant load track' thing. If I remove the eagle.3do it runs fine, but then the needles don't line up with the gauges :( Kev - using the hires dash. "George M. Smiley" wrote:

hmmm, odd. We develop the dashes on a TNT2, both ultra and non-ultra. I would suggest starting from just the eagle.dat file in your eagle directory, add the files in our archive and rename them as the readme suggests. Let me know if it works then. Hi Ken, It definitely doesn't want to work for me. I added each file to the eagle directory as you said. GPL worked just fine until I added the 3do from the eagle 3 dash, then I just get the can't load track error. Take the 3do out, works fine. I've got your ferrari, lotus and BRM dashes working ok and the eagle 1 and 2 work ok but the 3rd and best just won't play ball :( btw I've downloaded it 5 times just to check it's not a dodgy download but no joy. System is p3-600 128Mb ram TNT2 ultra 770 with 5.22 TNT drivers. GPL v1.2 and D3D patch Kev ken drouillard wrote:
