Anyway, press 'R' to change between the normal map and a rotating one.
This only works when the map is not on, so you have to press m to
deselect the map, press r, then press m again to turn the map back on
and see the results.

I recently went back to it as well and it was the very poor FF that got me.
Like the way the car reacts to hopping over a kerb though. F12K AI is better
with the v1.09 patch, but they're still cemented to their line and are
oblivious to passing cars it seems. They don't run you off the road anymore
when initiating the move themselves, however. Still very prone to losing it
all by themselves. In my experience so far, you understand.

=---
In a moment of craziness last night, I pulled out the CPR cd-rom to run a
few laps at Mid-Ohio and get ready for the CART race this Sunday. The map
overlay in the lower right corner of the screen isn't working correctly
anymore. Typing 'M' toggles the map on and off, and I'm not aware of any
other options for it. The problem is that the map is now floating around
instead of staying put in the corner. It's rotating as I turn the wheel,
and it's also moving around, sometimes going partly off the screen. It does
the same thing on all the tracks I tried.
I ended up turning the map overlay off because it's too annoying. This map
used to work fine. The only mods I have to CPR is the official 1.01 patch
and the glide .dll. Everything else in CPR seems to work as before except
the map. System is a P233MMX, 64MB RAM, 3dfx Voodoo2 12MB, DirectX 7.0a,
Win98, IE 5.01.
Any ideas?

haha! ;-) I know what you mean. I had to reacquaint myself to continually
making steering adjustments to correct the drifting all over the place. But
after a few practice laps, I was able to get used to it again and turn in
some decent times. Then I made the mistake of starting a quick race and
seeing all the AI problems again, like AI cars punting you out of the race
for no reason, or having them drift over suddenly in your lane while you're
passing them, etc. I haven't tried F1 2000 because my system doesn't meet
the requirements, but as bad as that AI is reported to be, it can't be as
bad as CPR can it?

Great - thanks for the tip. I couldn't find that in the manual or the
online help.
