Hi. I have a decent machine right now, but I've decided it's time to drop some money down because I'm tired of running GPL with 1/2 of the graphics turned off in order to get my 36fps. GPL really is the only game I'm interested in...but first the specs, then the question: PII 300 128 meg ram i810 8meg video card Creative Labs 12 meg Voodoo2 card Logitech Wingman wheel (non-FF) Some cheap-as* Yamaha sound card My question is, if I just replace the old Intel video card with a fancy new one should that be enough to let me get 36fps with 13-14 AI cars & all graphics or do I really need to go ahead and upgrage the CPU (thereby requiring a new motherboard, RAM, etc.)? If the former, which card would you recommend? If the later, I'll figure it out on my own! I'm going to replace the Yamaha with a Soundblaster Live when I upgrade the video card or CPU - but I've been told to not expect more than 2-3 fps better with the new card, which doesn't really accomplish what I'm looking to do. Thanks in advance! -Mark PS: Please don't tell me about YOUR PII300/voodoo2 that is 36fps all the time, all graphics on, etc. I've done what I can changing mirror settings, closing all other programs, etc., and I still have to turn off quite a few graphics to get a constant 36fps....

I have a PII-350 w/voodoo3-3000 and sb live and get the fps you are looking for. So the two cards may do it for you. But a cpu upgrade will definitely do more.
