In GPL rank what exactly is a clock smasher and is this how some
players get some of those unbelievable lap times. I am currently
around a 90 handicap and can see at the most one or 2 sec a lap
off every track and maybe 15 sec off the ring ( currently 9:12) so
maybe a 60 handicap is possible for me. But how in the world can
someone attain a -55 handicap. Are there replays available ?

Mike, A clock smash is a synchronisation problem that occurs between server
and client when racing online. In extreme cases (the dark days of 1.1) there
were recorded cases of cars doing 600mph down the straights. Whilst Some
people might have submitted times that were clock smashed, the majority of
people - 99.9999% submitting lap times are honest about this and delete
these lap entries.

Keep working on it mate. Once you are below 9:00 at the ring, 8:50 suddenly
seems attainable somehow and then 40,s etc. Took me a year to get below 9:00
and then 2 weeks to go to 8:35!
