Oh, I'm by no means belittling the effort- and a fine one it is. Great job, great track. I'm just inquiring about the frame rate issue, and I think you hit the nail on the head. if I turn down objects from "All" to "Many" I get a good boost in frames. I can live with that. -- Scott Moore The Sports Gaming Network http://www.sports-gaming.com "Where are we going, and why are we in a handbasket?" > > System: > > Celeron 533 > 128 Meg > Voodoo 2 > cheapie SB PCI s/c > > Don't get me wrong, I -love- the track, especially after recent hours in front > of Speedvision watching the historical car events there. I had to turn the trackside objects to "many" and turn off the clouds to get my frame rate back up to 36. It's a cool little track though. Can't quite figure this one out. I'm getting 36 fps everywhere in practice, but only get 28-29 alone on the track at Goodwood. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Specs are: Celeron @ 581 128 MB PC100 V3 3000 AGP SB Live X-Gamer Any clues? Thanks in advance. -- Scott Moore The Sports Gaming Network http://www.sports-gaming.com "Where are we going, and why are we in a handbasket?"

Yep, I'm seeing frame rate hits in Goodwood, maybe a little more than in some other 3rd party tracks. I actually hit 10 fps at the back of a full grid. Seems to vary depending on what part of the track you're on. I guess you don't spend months optimizing polygon counts if you're giving it away.
