problems with voodoo 3000

im noticing problems still with gpl with my v3000 agp. its basically frame skipping every time the frame rate drops. i've got the latest drivers installed 1.05 and direct x 7.0 hard drive is not fragmented and has no errors and theres plenty of room on it. the worst thing is if i use the d3d patch it doesnt do it. but i didnt buy voodoo card to play gpl in direct 3d! i understand that tracks like goodwood will slow down and i can live with it, but not the frameskip which sometimes even makes the computer crash. please someone help b4 i start pulling my hair out. thanks Rich
