Hmmm. What's a good lap at Solitude these days? I'm at 3:51, and still feel
lots of room for improvement. Anyone down into 3:30's or 3:20's yet?

Well I'm down to a 3:37, but others have been much faster. I was in an
online race last night, and the track's creator, Martijn, won the race in
an Eagle and had a fastest lap of about 3:30. (He must have had a lot of
practice!) I think the WR is about 3:23 by the awesome Greger Huttu.
I know I can go faster, but the section with all the left-right 3rd/4th
gear corners is very difficult to get right. One mistake can lead you to
run wide which means you're completely off line for the next sweep. The
downhill straight to the hairpin is awesome though. The flat-out left
just before is a bit like Antoniusbusche at the Nurburgring, but a bit
faster.

Schubi's is having a contest that will award a prize of 500DM
(232.00 U.S.) for the best Solitude hotlap as of Sept30. The three
fastest guys are in the 3:23 range right now.
