Hey all,
I felt it necessary to follow up on my interview and clarify a few of the
hottest topics.
NASCAR Racing 4 is scheduled to ship in Q1 of 2001. Don't ask me the exact
date and I will tell you no lies<VBG>.
As for multiplayer, the 43 player support is dependent upon bandwidth.
Obviously depending on the the network setup, whether it be a LAN, TCP/IP or
what have you, the quality of the experience will be based off the bandwidth
available. This is brand new multiplayer code and not based off of our
previous NASCAR products. We have been working on this code since the
release of GPL. N4 will include dedicated server support. We will release
this product with better multiplayer support than N3 had but as I stated in
the interview, I am not at liberty to go into details and tell you exactly
what that support will be.
I want to reiterate what I said at the end of the interview:
"There has been a belief that Papyrus doesn't know or care about what the
community wants to see from us but we are that community. Believe me when
I say that I want to see online racing prosper. But I don't want to start
making promises, nor set deadlines on what it is that we will deliver until
I'm sure that I can make those commitments."
I stand behind this statement. As we get closer to shipping this product, I
hope to communicate more to you.
Scott
Thankyou Scott.

We certainly benefit when folks like you and Ed Martin drop by.
It is very easy to have rumours get started and clear information is
usually the best way to prevent that.
VERY GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE MULTI-PLAYER updates.

There will always be people who trash the ones on the cutting edge. They
should thank their lucky stars for all the Papy sims. Anyone care to go
back to "Bill Elliott's Nascar Challenge"!! ;-)

I don't think Robbie has come down off cloud-9 from that 4th place finish to even
know about the Jeff Gordon/Tony Stewart confrontation... :-)
I like seeing someone ruffle Jeff's feathers. Man that Stewart has a temper
though. Should be an interesting couple races coming up.

Uh, *what* Stewart vs. Gordon thing? They try to kick each other's ass at
Indy? I missed the race... :(

I think he's referring to the confrontation after the Watkins Glen race. If
not for stewarts' crew member, Gordon would of kicked his ass.

They seem to show it once a week on RPM2Nite on ESPN2, especially this week
with the Stewart vs. Gordon thing brewing up memories of fights in the past.

They got into it at the beginning of the race, Gordon ended up tapping the
wall, Stewert got out pretty good, I don't remember who's fault I thought it
was. DOES go to show you that NHdemo's cars sticking together is a tad
unrealistic.
