I think that's normal in GPL. It's like watching a "letterboxed" movie. You get used to it, eventually... As far as the resolutions go, they don't look that differente to me, either between those 2 settings on my V3. L.S. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8n27tg$h6q$[email hidden]...

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. As I just started with GPL, so here is another graphics question: I noticed that there is a white semi-transparent band around outside cockpit area. Is this normal too? I have a Voodoo3 3000 AGP and use everything in 3DTwist as default (nothing checked and with automatic setting for Glide). Thanks again. = Minh = In article <Nvfl5.30510$[email hidden]>, "Simon Brown" <[email hidden]> wrote: > You'll soon grow to love the 16:9 aspect ratio, it does afterall look > unique. Hi all, I'm wondering if this is normal: no matter what resolution I set, as soon as I got in the car, GPL only displays in the middle of the screen (leaving the top and the bottom black). Also, I didn't seem to notice any difference between setting it to 1024x768 or 1280x1024 (my computer is a PIII-600 with 256 MB ram and a Voodoo3 3000 AGP). I got 36 fps either way but the resolutions didn't look any different from one mode to another. Thanks for any help. = Minh = Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

You'll soon grow to love the 16:9 aspect ratio, it does afterall look unique. Also it makes the game runs faster as well. 1280*1024 looks quite a bit cleaner to me compared with 1024*768. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8n27tg$h6q$[email hidden]...

That's the wind shield. It's supposed to be there :) Bart Westra

Thanks, Bart. I guess being a simracer I didn't even notice the existence or omission of a windshield... :-) = Minh = In article <8n4dga$3au$[email hidden]>, "Bart Westra" <[email hidden]> wrote: > > <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8n47qh$qp0$[email hidden]...
