Ok, tried it myself now. Speed sensitive steering is not nescessarily "steering help" James. The amount of speed sensitivity should be under player control though. See that button named "setup" at the race screen? -click it and change the realism to expert on the next screen. Better? ;-)) Jan. =--- James Pickard wrote... > Either I'm doing somthing wrong (mostl ikely), <snip>

Hehe, and some claim this game to have intuitive menus ... :-) Took me a while myself to figure that one out, I was looking for a similar option as in the 'race the pro' mode, i.e. not to be hidden in a sub menu. I also found out at www.high-compression.com that there is actually 3 modes. (Normal, Expert and Hardcore) go here to find out how to toggle the Hardcore mode. http://hc.letsgoracin.net/thesite/Hardcore.htm I find it much harder and more realistic to catch slides. Jan Verschueren wrote:

No, see, NASCARS are staggered to turn left, so it goes slightly left all the time. Thanks, Alex James Pickard <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:lc3l5.1935$[email hidden]...

Either I'm doing somthing wrong (mostl ikely), or no-one seems have have noticed the inherent "steering help" that Nascar Heat has. I have looked everyonwhere for the option to turn it off, but can't find it! Do this.. driving into Turn 1 at 120mph.. on full left lock.. then slow to 80mph.. and watch what the wheel does... Pretty obvious.. :-( How do I turn it off?? Or is it somthing you can't change?? I sure hope not!! James

That's not it.. :-( I think that the there is no way to turn off the steering help. :-( James Jan Loebzien <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Sat, 12 Aug 2000 03:58:04 +0200, "Jan Verschueren" > <[email hidden]> wrote: > > >See that button named "setup" at the race screen? -click it and changethe

Anyway, thanks for the heads up, gonna test it immediately! PS: Played the Heat demo for a couple of hours now, and I simply love it! Can't wait for the full release, I'd really like to test the physics on Watkins Glen and Sears Point! Andre
