O.K.... I must be FF challenged (even though I have never had a problem in any other sim) I just can't seem to get anything but the most minor FF effects in F1 2000. I have LWFF USB with latest drivers and 109 patch for F12000. I have read some of the posts to get ideas and advice but what everyone is getting I still must be missing. 1) I DO have FF "on" in the options settings 2) I have never had to set FF in the LWFF Profiler before and FF has always worked very nicely for me in the GPL, NFS, SCGT etc. but in this case everyone was saying I need to enable "Center Steering". So I have set specific game settings (doing a new profile and selecting "Create from Scratch") in the LW Profiler that has Center Steering enabled and I have tried it from 25% to 150%. I have also set the FF overall strength from 50 to 150%. No difference - matter of fact even if I disable the "Center Steering" the FF in the game feels exactly the same. 3) I read the notes in the 109 patch file and it said: >>Force Feedback In order to properly "feel" the effects, the FF wheelsettings have to be correct. With a dead zone present, or with the centering spring force >>disabled, the handling effects are imperceptible. With the centering spring force set at 100%, the handling effects are masked So I went into the game options and set the "Game Controller Deadzone" to 0% - no difference 4) It doesn't matter whether I start the game from the LW Profiler or the boot icon - still very little FF. Any ideas very appreciated. Thanks ...Rick

I set the sprint centering to 50% In the control panel joystick applet. In fact I have never had a need to create any profiles for my LWFF. -- [email hidden] "Rick Clyde" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:S6gl5.822$[email hidden]... > O.K.... OK to keep Overall Effects Strength, Spring Effects Strength, and Damper Effects at 100%? I have altered my Centering Spring strength to 50%, and I do get more feel on the grass (!), but road feel is still pretty vague... -- s i m a g e r y @ h o t m a i l . c o m
Silly question, maybe, but is your LWFF on ID1 (Advanced tab in Game Controllers panel)? I've never used the profiler either and, although centering is pretty week around the "straight ahead" position (hence the suggestions of setting centering spring... you must also check the the "Use Centering Spring with Force Feedback games"-option) Force feedback is present and can be quite strong, depending on how you set your spring and damping forces. Thanks to both of you - I never even knew there was a "Use Centering Spring with FF games" in the LWFF control applet until you pointed it out. It SURE made a difference. Is this something you leave enabled for all sims? GPL, SCGT, NFS, NASCAR3 etc. or do you enable and disable for different sims. Does it make any difference if I just leave it on all the time? I've tried it at 50 and 80 and it seems about the same. Just leave it at somewhere in that range? ..Rick "Jan Verschueren" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I've tried it at 50 and 80 Yes it will make a difference. In GPL for example it takes away from the sublte FF effects which are so important. IMHO the FF in F1 2000 is fairly OK. But is totally porked in many respects. If you check the FF in the pits with the spring centering option OFF, you will see the FF is really close to GPL. Until you hit the blend line and it all dissapears. The spring centering makes up for this deficency, but I would much prefer that F1 2000 was fixed properly. If the road is vague, then you have it setup perfectly :-) -- [email hidden]
