The V3 stuff is something we're going to leave to the hackers. The demo wasn't even out... check that... the press beta wasn't out for more than a few hours before someone had already cracked that one. The issue - as I posted in another thread - is that we had to target the options & UI at a certain audience. While most sim-ers out there are willing & able to toy with stuff AND they understand the consequences, many in the broader market aren't there. We didn't want to stick a bunch of stuff in their face that would result in a flood of support calls regarding poor performance. --ed. I second that emotion. Chris In article <[email hidden]>, Andre Warringa <[email hidden]> wrote: > Also, I have a LWFF and CH pedals. Unfortunately the CH pedals are not > reckognized in Heat. One thing I noticed while playing the demo: there seem to be no skid marks or sparks while in replay mode - could this be fixed with a patch ? Also, how about an option to at least enable 1024x768 on a voodoo3 when running the lowest detail level. I understand that the 16mb card cannot cope with the texture load, but in low detail mode there are a lot less objects and therefore textures present. Would this be possible ? Anyway, congrats for an exciting sim - excellent stuff. From the moment I have the NH CD in my drive, N3 will collect Dust. cheers, --- Alexander Marx mailo:[email hidden]

The beat the heat deal is great, would be a great add-on cd, lots of new scenarios to go after. J. Hmm, most of the sim-ers are willing&able to turn an option on/off manualy in some *.cfg file. Others can have whatever you think they can handle. Just a thought. Borut

Keep it up, Also thanks for supporting the sim-ers the way you do. btw. 1024x768x16 mode works and performs well in Win2k (low detail). p.s.: am I allowed to get my hopes up for LAN play supporting 16+ players (all high spec PC's in a monthly GPL league) or should I stop dreaming ? --- Alexander Marx mailo:[email hidden]

Does the 'Pro' make all the difference? JanL

Someone will write an "Advanced Options Editor" to facilitate those that don't want to mess with the text file. Probably have a full help system and everything. Hmm... Sounds like a good first project to try in Python... -Larry "rrevved" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Sun, 13 Aug 2000 12:42:54 +0200, "Borut Srebotnik"<[email hidden]> wrote: > > >> The issue - as I posted in another thread - is that we had to targetthe
