Just saw a post on the GPLEA forum with this great site:
http://www.legendsof67.free-online.co.uk/
Here's the post itself, describing the content of the site:
I have just launched a new GPL site - Legends of 67 - link at end of
post.
The purpose of the site is to cover files/patches to improve the
accuracy of GPL as a simulation of the 1967 F1 season, and to give
some background to the season. My site recommends the best available
patches, and some of the remaining gaps have been/will be filled my
own files.
It is my intention to complement the GPLEA, GPLSF and other GPL sites,
not to compete with them. The new GPLEA site is brilliant, but doesn't
include all the old files and even after a few months they show no
sign of re-appearing. So my site includes some of these older files,
some of my own work, and links to the current GPLEA car patches, and
GPLSF dashes. As the GPLEA site is completed I will replace my
downloads with links to their site. I am very grateful to the GPLEA
for their permission to include some of their early work on my site.
With the lack of updates to The Fast Lane, and recent problems with
The Pits, I feel there is room for a new site.
The number of GPL add-ons is so enormous that I'm limiting the scope
of my site to covering the 1967 Formula 1 season; so no other season
car-sets, no add-ons for other seasons tracks, and no F2/F3.
My own work includes new textures to go with Goetz Poppitz's BRM 3DO,
and Joe Lafritte's Cooper 3DO. I have also produced an alternative to
Matthew Knutsen's excellent 1967 programme covers. Mine are less
authentic, but a bit "cleaner" and are a consistent size to fit GPL's
interface.
