Hi,
I have been trying, in vain, to get my wheel and pedals to
calibrate in GP3, they work no problem with GP2 and GPL... I
use separate axis for steering, throttle, brake and clutch (4
separate axis using J/stick A & B). GP3 will not see the 'B'
j/stick to calibrate the the brake and clutch! I have read
several posts regarding a bug in GP3 with regard to this and
that a patch is eminent... I phoned Hasbro technical help to
get a date for the patch... they denied any knowledge of the
patch or that there was evan a problem! The guy I spoke to at
Hasbro could not see the purpose of split axis and said that
the 'advanced' controller set-up in GP3 was for using two
j/sticks with two players, and not for connecting split axis
wheel/pedals!!! Is this a joke or what? My wheel/pedals
calibrate in W98, but not in GP3.
Can anyone throw any light on this situation... Hasbro don't
seem to know!
It seems that GP3 is a retrograde step from GP2 as far as
controller usage is concerned.

Hi Dave,
it's not that hard to get correct input with split axis.
Go to Windows Gamecontroller and delete all controllers. Then setup the
first controller as 2-axis-4-button-joystick. Setup a second controller as
2-axis-2-button-joystick. Goto GP3 and setup the brake on joystickB,
horizontal-axis. Works well for me and my TM Nascar Racing Wheel.
Have fun

The tech support guy must drive a car where the gas/brake pedal run on

and Ch pedals. I think there may be 2 different situations -
a) Your pedals show up as the X and Y axes of joystick B.
In this case all you should need to do is turn on control
driven calibration and choose the appropriate axes for
throttle and brake. You need to make sure you get the
vertical and horizontal round the right way.
b) Your pedals show as axes 3 and 4 of joystick A. This
is my situation and is trickier. You'll need to download
JoyRegs from StickWorks http://home.att.net/~stickworks/
(Thanks to Bob Church). Use this to switch the pedals to
the X and Y axes of joystick B. Then you're in case a) -
follow the instructions above. Note that taking this option
will affect how the pedals appear in other games, which
will need reconfiguring.
Cheers

I think there's a c) which affects many wheels:
c) pedals show up as axis 2 and 3 of joystick A, i.e. steering
is X axis, throttle/brake are Y/Z (sometimes Y/RZ - why?).
JoyRegs can't help with this. GP3 plain just won't work with
this configuration. With my pedals (F1Sim Pro) combined axis is
a physical open-the-box switch which I won't do. So GP3 doesn't
get used. I race simulations instead.

So my attempts to use my sidewider2 thottle lever as a brake (like I
do in GPL) will only work if I try and drive two cars at the same
time!
No wonder it would not work!
