So, did you actually GET 22 fps in N3? I'm trying to gauge the performance of your system against mine... I started the download for the NH demo last night at 8:00 PM. Then my wife and I went out to our hot tub and languished around in that for 3 hours. I came back in the house at 11:00 PM and installed the demo. ...Then I proceeded to stay up until 3:00 AM in the morning playing it. I LOVE IT! Even on my antique AMD K-6/2 350mhz...it really is smooth. I checked the framerates with half detail and only cars in the mirror, and it indicated 16.5 fps. Now I know that 16.5 is very slow compared to some of the numbers I've been hearing about...but I just wanted to say that, even at that slow frame rate, it was amazingly smooth. A lot smoother than Nascar 3 at the same frame rate. Anything slower than 22 in Nascar 3 is very jerky and choppy. Oh...I also run a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI and 64 megs in my AMD. Nascar Heat is my very next purchase. (A new computer system is not far behind) Back to The Glen... Jim "Pops" Tester

Yessir...I run my N3 with 8-bit sound and no Anti Aliasing. But with all other graphics on, I consistantly run around 25 to 28 on the track. If I'm in the pits with a lot of cars around me it drops down to about half of that. If I use the 16-bit sound (which I love) my rates drop to about 22 or so. And if I use Anti Aliasing, it drops to less than 20. I tried setting my graphics to all "Automatic" to show everything at 25 or above, and everything is being shown. Until I go into the pits with a lot of cars around...then things start disappearing....which is set at 13. Later...Jim

Hmm. I'll have to check my FPS and graphics settings again... Eldred -- Tiger Stadium R.I.P. 1912-1999 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett GPL hcp. +51.31 Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level, then beats you with experience... Remove SPAM-OFF to reply.
