You should have selected software or none for graphics acceleration
during the install. If you selected sumthing else and cant change it,
post here again. If you did select software, try fiddling with the
monitor refresh rate and/or set your desktop resolution low before
starting gpl. Hope this helps.

Perhaps, you can help me (i hope so). I bought GPL some days ago. I
installed it, I was looking forward to play it. But everytime I start it, I
see the black beginning Screen, and then, I'm back on my Windows Desktop,
without any messages from the system. No patch helped.
My System:
PIII-500
128mb Ram
ATI Rage Xpert 2000 32Mb grafics card
ESS1938 PCI Audio drive
Dirext X7a, all components compatible
Microsoft Siedewinder standard at gameport
Gravis Gamepad pro at USB
