My Problem:
I downloaded nVidida 6.18 detonator 3 drivers today and now I cannot play NH
anymore.
When I try to run NH I see the opening splash screen and then it seems when
the game is about to kick in my monitor suddenly goes to sleep. I have to
escape to exit NH and then my monitor wakes back up when I am back at the
Windows desktop.
I went back to my original set of drivers (5.22) and the problem is still
there!!!! What the hell happened?
At this point I am going to try and reinstall the game...
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the GeForce is going into a resolution your monitor can't do.
It shouldn't do that of course.
You can force D3D/DirectX to a particular refresh rate in DxDiag, that may
provide a temporary fix. Run DxDiag (easiest way is select 'run' from the
start menu and enter 'dxdiag' ). Go into the 'more help' tab and click
'Override' and change the refresh rate to 60 or 75.

The game is set for 1024x768. Clearly a resolution my monitor can handle.
I am using a Viewsonic PF790 19" monitor. It can go as high as 1600 x1200. I
tried changing my desktop to lower resolutions as well as 16 bit color but
nothing worked. I had to go all the way back to the detonator 5.18 drivers
to stop this from happening. Even the well rounded 5.22 drivers did not work
for me.
I wish I knew what was causing it.

It seems to be a problem with the refresh rate. I had it set to 100hz but
the game would only work right with 85 or lower. Its kind of weird though
becuase I did not have this problem with my previous drivers.
Anyway, I am happy to report I can race NH with the 6.18 detontator driver
now as long as I keep the refresh rate under 100hz.
