Has anyone determined if using the clutch while shifting has any
advantage? You don't seem to lose any time and you keep the tach from
redlining every time. The only advantage I can think of is maybe
the engine won't blow as quickly. I've become good at it but I
don't want to waste my thumb if I don't really need to as I realize it
wasn't used in real life. But then maybe they could match revs easier.
Sorry if this thread has been explored before, but I haven't seen it.
What's the verdict?

Before you buy.
If you redline it your engine will eventually blow up. You don't need the
clutch, just let off the gas during each shift. Oh and the clutch was
absolutely used in real life.

Nope, since GPL itself micro-clutches when you shift without the use of the
clutch. Like Colin said, just pull it in gear and make sure you lift the
gas a little (I would say 40-60% depending on your situation on the track).
