p3 733, Geforce 2 gts, 128 megs 133 mhz ram, tyan trinity 400 mobo... everything on, 1280x1024, benchmark claims 47 fps or so :-) Brian Brian Whipple <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:MKim5.4721$[email hidden]... > I have a voodoo 3 now and run it just fine but will the higher resoultion > constitute an upgrade? > >
I can only say Im running a P3-800 w/133mhz bus, 256mb of SDRAM and an ASUS V7700 Pure (32mb) GeForce 2 and HEAT looks beautiful and I can turn everything to max without a hint of fps troubles. I have a voodoo 3 now and run it just fine but will the higher resoultion constitute an upgrade?

Well we should hope....if it didn't run like the dickens on that rig Hasbro would have our hides. At the start of the project they tried to get us to do a software only mode!!! Scott B. Unlike many titles, there seems to be a huge difference in the look of this game as you go higher res. If you really want this game to look beautiful, then upgrade. Marc. I'm running NH on a Athlon-800 w/ a Prophet GeForce-2 GTS 32 and I get a benchmark of 52.2 fps at 1280x1024 with all graphics options maxed! High detail cars as well. It looks outstanding! Sal V. Etcher, I thought you guys at Hasbro were veterans of the sim development process? See, you first develop a sim that is 'pushing the hardware' to the limits. You then determine 50% into development that you can't make your deadline so you 'determine' that todays hardware can't handle what you are producing. So you then delay it and 'redo' an old title you had released and push back the release date on the 'modern' product. Geez.. you guys have alot to learn ;) LOLOL Seriously.. software only mode??
