im using nvidia reference drivers detonators v.5.22 with no problems, do you have directx 7.0a? i tried detonator 3's as well with no problems either, except i just ran the benchmark in NHdemo, but i would assume it works in the game..no increase FYI www.nvidia.com follow instructions in readme...make sure you do this! i had a lot of problems with the diamond drivers (gpl) so i switched long ago.. abit bh6 mobo, mx300 sound, c450 w98 if you havent reinstalled nhdemo yet, do it again, you know the drill;) good luck dunk Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I have the newest drivers for my Viper 550 card 4.12.01.0368 dated 2/07/2000 on the Diamond site.I am running a Microstar International mother board 5169. I also have done a complete defrag, cleaned out the entire HD, reinstalled direct X 7.0 and doubled checked my sound card drivers for my SB live card. I cannot get Heat to load past the loading screen. It will go through all the menus of the game, and when I click on load, it loads up..than goes to the screen that says loading again..and locks hard. A cold boot is needed to get it going again. I have read the read me and found nothing in their related to the 550 having problems with Heat. Please send me a e- mail, as well as responding to this newsgroup. A Viper550--is that a TNT2? I always forget... Often the OEMs will release their own version of nVidia's older driver as the "latest" driver. I'm not sure if the numbers match up, but that .0368 looks like the "two versions ago" nVidia reference drivers, which had lockup problems. You could try downloading the latest nVidia reference drivers, that will probably help you... although IIRC the old 368 drivers would "mostly" work on our machines, and only hang occasionally, so it might be something else, although there could be something special about your system/phase of moon/etc that tickles this particular bug every time...
