I would venture to say that the level of anal-retention on this forum
is generally running near peak capacity.
I believe that when we buy a sim we are paying for creativity and the
work that was put into it. Ideas too. My favorite image from the pre
release of GP3 was a MPEG found on the internet showing a GP3 sound
engineer discussing the difficulties involved in recreating the sounds
of F1.. (I guess his work was more difficult than he thought, what
with only one car audible!) The 4 years of so-called GP3 development is
one of the great simracing hoaxes ever. Quite funny really, how
gullible they judge the public to be.
In NASCAR Heat you have the *option* to watch a replay in a small
window while telemetry is being displayed, and I think its great.

I'm sure you can turn it off somewhere, but maybe not in the demo (if it's
toggled with a key I missed it too). Anyway, it's well out of one's line of
sight, so I'm not too bothered by it.

Can you toggle off all the overlays during driving? Perhaps I missed it in
the readme, but I don't want to see my brake position, gear, lap time,
position etc.

this will take you to a replay that displays some of your telemetry data
while you watch. Being somewhat dim, I just discovered this tonight,
but it instantly gave me a grudge towards Crammond/Hasbro/GP3. I know,
I know, I know its beating a dead horse, but when I see this feature in
NH.. a wonderful NEW feature, it makes me disgusted over what Hasbro
is dishing out. You know what? I'm proud that I downloaded GP3 in warez
form, and I aint going to buy the damn game either! And another thing,
I'm also proud that I preordered NASCAR Heat from Babbages already. I
will gladly support this kind of professionalism with my money. Gladly.
Hasbro can go screw themselves.

Your original post did not suggest you understood the subtlety of

You're not alone on that - I feel the same way, actually. As a matter
of fact, if I didn't burn the warez GP3 to a CD, I wouldn't even have
GP3 in my possession. But I'll be there next week, eager to pick up
NH.

Gimme a break!!! If that isn't the ultimate example of nitpicking!!!
That's almost like saying the ability to 'pause' the game is
unrealistic. After all, real race car drivers can't pause the race.

One could argue that it is unrealistic.
