second somewhere to go to -0.01s. May I suggest Mosport... a track that
actively discourages taking off large chuncks, but is ideal for whittling
away at your time.

I had a handicap of +0.24 or something like that. Tonight I did a lap
or 30 at Silverstone, where I'm still really slow. Broke my pb with a
couple of tenths (1:30.13), and I was very happy, because I thought
that would be enough for (finally) a negative handicap.
Uploaded my player.ini file, looked at the results...

How I rate against the papy boys and girls? Well, add up my laptimes,
add up their laptimes, and you've 2 identical numbers...

I suggest you keep plugging away at Silverstone. Just looking
at a back to back on GPLRank, you seem to be able to top my times
everywhere EXCEPT Silverstone. Barring that, why not go for broke,
take on the Ring, and zoom straight into the -10s (possibly)?
Just remember to take deep breaths and don't hold onto that
wheel too tightly. :-)

Long Live Nigel Mansell!
Hehehehe... I can see the headline:
Simracer found dead at PC. - AP
Rescue workers in Holland were shocked to find simracer and renowned
internet persona Andre Warringa dead in front of his PC. Preliminary reports
suggest the Dutchman neglected to breathe while attempting to improve his
"Ring time" (time required to cover the 1967 version of the Nurnburgring as
presented in Grand Prix Legends, Sierra/Papyrus' groundbreaking racing
simulation for PC -Ed). How this tragic occurrence will affect the way the
general public views computer games is hard to predict.

I fanatically tried to break my 8:30 at the Ring for a couple of days.
But it was a little bit too frustrating. One teensie weensie mistake,
and it takes another big 8 minutes for the next try. So I tried to
shave off a couple of seconds from some other tracks first.
With much succes. I can't remember what my handicap was when GPLRank
started, but since then I have broken the pb's of all my other tracks.
Especially at Spa the last days.
But Silverstone is a track which I simply hated. It's so flat that
it's hard to judge the turn-in points and speed. I never really tried
hotlapping there.
But two days ago I only needed a couple of tenths to enter the
negative ranking. So I started at Silverstone, since there were a lot
of seconds to be beaten on that track. I'm starting to get the hang of
it, and start to like the track more and more, but it will never be
one of my favorite tracks.
After I have entered the negative range on GPLRank I will start to
practice on the Ring again, the Ring makes such a huge impact on the
overall GPLRank.
