not sure if this is just "noise" to some or not. After running a billion+ (or more :)) laps in GP2, then not picking it up for the last year, here is my first impressions of GP3, after running about 4 dozen hot laps at Spa today. 1) I expected better graphics. They look a bit grainy to me, even at 1280x1024, on a GeForce256. Not terrible though. 2) Performance is good on P3 733, GeForce256 (plain, 5.22 CT drivers) 3) Absolutely no chance to recover from many of the spins. I'm spoiled by GPL I guess. Sometimes here, you are obviously going around, reguardless of correctional maneuvers. Many times, the corrections don't even cause ANYTHING, the car just continues around, like you didn't do anything. The entry into the first chicane at Spa is example. No biggie though. We are spoiled by GPL in this category, methinks. 4) Zero PC crashes/hangs (yet) 5) The curbs at Spa are toooooo forgiving... not sure what that's about. Sometimes when your outside tires should be on the dirt/grass/gravel outside the curb, the car just floats I guess. 6) Is it me... or is front bite harder to dial in?? I'm wearing my fronts out like nobodies business, I just can't get front bite. 7) I think some of the warez versions out there are partially bogus... I checked out a warez version last night, with my retail coming via UPS today... and I could notice a difference after getting the retail box today. Don't make your judgement off the warez, unless your sure the warez was from the retail build. So far so good though. Been waiting for this to come out for soooooo long. I'm happy to have it. -=hammer -- MC "I've been trying to get as far away from myself as I can" - Bob Dylan Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Don't recover from the spins using GPL (on the throttle) technique. Tap the brake pedal and you'll be recovering from those spins quite easy. I've spun out on the kerbs at Brazil many times. -Cheers! "Hammer" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8nn4vb$s7a$[email hidden]...

The replay function didn't work in the warez but did in the retail. I never tried to troubleshoot it though, could have just been a glitch. And the performance in 1280x1024 seems better, but again, I didn't quantify that. Other than that, not much. Might even be my imagination. -=hammer Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

i agree, increasing your throttle does nothing but give you lots of smoke (i have the replay to prove it)
