After discovered and enjoyed the physics in GPL, can you tell me all the others racing sims they made ? I know they made the Nascar series, so does Nascar 3 or 4 are good ? And what about the physics ??

And what about the physics ?? Unfortunately GPL is the only Papy game using that superb physics engine (allthough there's one person in the whole wide world who thinks otherwise). N3 doesn't use it, but N4 will use it, allthough I read that it will be a bit 'tuned down' to make it a little bit easier to drive the car. Don't know if that's true though. The only other Papy game I still play once in a while is Indycar II. Oh, and keep an eye out for Nascar Heat, that one has a fantastic physics engine too. Andre

Don't forget that Viper Racing was developed by former folks from Papy, and it features some very good physics, too. -- JB In article <[email hidden]>, Andre Warringa <[email hidden]> wrote:

When Nascar 4 and Nascar Heat will be released ?? And what is the difference between the 2 ?? I hope they will be released here, in France. Because Nascar isn't very popular here. Andre Warringa <[email hidden]> a crit dans le message : [email hidden]...

Nascar Heat will be released Wednesday, August 23rd....or 24th....But only in the US. You'll have to find an overseas retailor like cdnow or others. Nascar 4 WAS scheduled for Novemeber, but I believe the current best guess is early in 2001.(Feb or March) dave henrie "Erwan" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:IgCo5.1028$[email hidden]...

Forget it, there is nothing to touch the physics of GPL until N4 & WSC come along. Sorry, I wouldn't quite put Nascar Heat in GPL territory.. a bit off. I would put it with SCGT.. but even behind that... James <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8opq7s$86f$[email hidden]...

Sorry but I disagree, Ice Ring traction is not by any stretch of the imagination realistic . And Papy sims have been plagued by this model from day one including GPL sans the physics.

Wow, I must be a freaking excellent driver on ice then cause I can get a GPL car through the Masta kink at 180MPH <G> Anyone know of an ice racing series I can sign up for without delay !!! :) -- Ian P <email invalid due to spam> JJ Thomas <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8oq29l$afm$[email hidden]... > Sorry but I disagree, Ice Ring traction is not by any stretch of > the imagination realistic . David Kaemmer explains that feeling you get of driving on ice, especially early on, very good in the introduction to GPL in the manual. Those cars are not easy to drive at high speeds, and the lack of physical input would indeed by very similar to driving on ice. However, with the practice and attention paid to it, it can be extremely satisfying. -- Don Burnette Dburn in N3 and Legends ICQ# 74084566 "Ian P" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8or0qf$4qu$[email hidden]... > Wow, I must be a freaking excellent driver on ice then cause I can get a GPL > car through the Masta kink at 180MPH <G> > Anyone know of an ice racing series I can sign up for without delay !!! :) > > -- > Ian P > <email invalid due to spam> > > JJ Thomas <[email hidden]> wrote in message > news:8oq29l$afm$[email hidden]... > > Sorry but I disagree, Ice Ring traction is not by any stretch of > > the imagination realistic . Don Burnette wrote in message <2s9s5.15895$[email hidden]>... >However, with the practice and attention paid to it, it can be extremely >satisfying. Therein lies the problem: many people don't have "the practice and attention" required to appreciate a game like GPL. They seem to have a big chip on their shoulder, and can think of nothing better than to piss on GPL ... from below. At the other end of the spectrum are people who are so blinded by GPL's superb physics engine, that they fail to appreciate the excellent aspects of every other worthy sim. Unfortunately, the people who are at either extreme of this spectrum are usually the loudest. Bendito;
