Question....Was this/is this game optimized for 3DFX/Glide? I'm actually getting better quality video and equal FPS with my Voodoo II 12 meg add-on card than my 64 meg GeForce2 GTS! Has anyone else tried this combonation? vs. say a Voodoo based board? And... If it is a case of Glide optimization, what about some of the other older games? Jay J

Yes f1rs was made BEFORE the nvidia geforce was on the drawing board. lots of games of about the same age....N99, Longbow2, etc were coded primarily for ONLY 3dfx compatibility. However many have added some patches that improve d3d or opengl performance. This is why I have the V5 instead of the Geforce...(plus the OLD OLD OLD icr2 tracks that have been converted to n99 and n3 don't work in 3d mode with nothing BUT 3dfx cards.)[since I still do a fair bit of racing in the TPTCC pits touring car league..thats a biggie] dave henrie "Jay J" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:hgZn5.5501$%[email hidden]...

The general consensous was that it seemed to work better with a 3dfx chip though. -- [email hidden] > Has anyone else tried this combonation? vs. say a Voodoo based board? > And... F1RS is a glide and D3D title. If the conversation has changed to a different sim from the header, I apologise <G> -- Ian P <email invalid due to spam> Greg Cisko <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:hK9o5.11066$[email hidden]... > "Jay J" <[email hidden]> wrote in message > news:hgZn5.5501$%[email hidden]... > > Question....Was this/is this game optimized for 3DFX/Glide?
