Well I haven't seen either of the West brothers telling me that I'm
going to be their bitch and I haven't seen a hype machine for the sim
either. Let's face it, it is two brothers who love the sport and are
working to make the ultimate race sim. There doesn't appear to be
any project manager to say that "hey we'll fix everything later, add
those features in the next release, etc." Judging from what I've
read, it will take a monster machine to run the beast. More polys in a
tire than in an entire Sports Car Racing vehicle? Whoa.
The sim seem to be suffering from feature creep and I hope they
eventually freeze the design and then optimize. With only 2 guys (and
brothers at that) I gotta believe that it will see the light of day.

With that reasoning, you could also say....why do hype games up before we've
tried them......

oooh, not a nice situation. But let's not make this delay stuff into a
anit-West thingy, would be nasty. I just hope they will release a test
or alpha-demo soon, should release some pressure :) And as long as the
developers are as open as they are, heck they race a week on VROC just
to get the idea of real multiplayer racing, I have no fear.

Dai-ka-tana. How's that?

See ya in the pits,
Deano
I have a terrible memory. In fact it's so bad that I can't remember how long it's been since I've forgotten anything.
No one esoecially me is in any way trying to put down the efforts of
the West Bros when it comes to WSC and I for one hope to hell they can
pull it off. But it seems to me with all the hype surrounding this
game that we could be setting ourselves and the West Bros up for a
huge dissapointment.

In fact, although a game I am looking forward to, my expectations are
tempered by the belief that this will not see the light of day at all, let
alone Q2 of 2001.

That means that bythe time the sim is released were up to the
computer capacity its written for.

I would be the first to say
that there was never a sim that I've been looking forward to as much as WSC.
Now...that's not slating the product old mate, is it?
What I was implying was that I am not confident in the fact that this product
will actually be *published*. That's not a shot at the two brothers but is more
an acknowledgement of what most publishers are like these days; short on
patience. Even if Q2 is feasible, that's an awful lot of water under the
bridge since the announcement of this sim.
I really, really hope that my fears are proven groundless.
