Buying NASCAR Heat and its multiplayer capacity

A poster on a slow modem explained why he was buying NASCAR Heat without trying the demo. Others discussed whether its 16-player multiplayer would work well over the internet as opposed to a LAN, and Greg Cisko said he would avoid it on principle because Hasbro published it.

I downloaded the demo of Nascar Heat but unfortunatly the file got corrupted during the download and it won't install. I am not going to bother trying to download it again as it simply takes too long with a 28.8. I have however decided to order a copy of Nascar Heat for a number of reasons: 1) It is unusual for a product to get almost universal praise in R.A.S. Nascar Heat seems to be liked by a good portion of the people in here. 2) I like Nascar sims. I have NR1999 and the N3 demo but those physics seem very dated against GPL. Not knocking them, just that I'm looking for something a bit new. 3) The rolling start thing doesn't really bother me as I always thought that the Papyrus Nascar starts were not that realistic. It is quite easy to overtake half the field at the start at some courses once you know the start sequence. I'm sure it will be one of the things that will be sorted in N4 which I am still looking forward to. 4) Auto pit stops are fine with me. I enjoy the strategy aspect of pitstops but to be quite honest trying to stop your car in the right place and slightly over shooting and having to reverse can be a real pain in the arse. If the computer can do that for me then great! 5) It will probarbly be at least 6 months before we see N4 and WSC. I'm sure NH along with GP3 (which I also ordered at the same time, lifes too short to waste time waiting for these damn South African computer retailers to get their act together!) and of course the evergreen GPL will keep me going till then. 6) I have the Viper Demo which ran very well on my system so I presumably can expect NH to do likewise. 7) It is nice to see Ed Martin taking the time to respond to questions in this NG. He seems like a pretty decent bloke so i think i should help keep him in a job:) Like I said I am not knocking Papyrus's Nascar sims. I will deffinatly be in line for N4. I'm sure though a bit of decent competition can't be a bad thing. Chris

You will not be disappointed its the best Nascar sim to date great physics with better AI then GPL.

I have been kind of ignoring NH. Does it have multiplayer capability at least as good as N3? I mainly like openwheel so I am not desperate to own every nascar sim. -- [email hidden] "Chris Bloom" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8nuj4g$923ij$[email hidden]... > I downloaded the demo of Nascar Heat but unfortunatly the file got corrupted > during the download and it won't install.
