First of all I am running an ATI All-In-Wonder Pro AGP card. Since this card
has known problems in N3 I haven't concerned myself with it until recently.
Prior to installing "The Patch" I could set the game up for D3D and it would
run just fine...except for the fact that parts of the cars were transparent and
the scenery (such as trees and the pit crew) had a realistic 3d appearance but
they all had solid black box backgrounds....really weird looking but like I
said it would run in D3D.
After installing the patch I tried again just to see if the patch cured the 3d
problems with my card....not only did it not fix it, it wouldn't even run. I
can select a track but before the screen gets to the point of displaying the
track the mouse and keyboard are locked up and I have to reboot with the
dreaded reset switch.
I have recently come across an unofficial driver which is said to run the ATI
cards in N3 but I get the same lock ups and haven't been able to test it.
Any suggestions???
I have a PII 333 W/128MB PC100 Ram & SOYO SY6BA+ Motherboard.
Thanks,
Doug B.
(Don't gimme NOCRAP in E-mail)
