It had to be a car you downloaded and added to your cars folder. All the
cars you see are on your PC.
It would be cool to be able to see other racers cars, but that would
take a lot of bandwidth to download car sets each time you joined a
race.

A while back I saw a car in front of me with the numberplate 'The Pits'. Can't remember the model, but is there any chance it belongs to one of The
Pits crew at www.theuspits.com

Nothing fancy - no real world 'racing' experience(yet), but I attended a Skip
Barber racing school in June. I can't afford to run any races, though. :(
Real world car - 1999 Grand Am. Again, nothing fancy, but I love that car...

I'd be interested to hear about other people's real world racing experience,
no matter how "trivial", or even tag a one-liner onto the end of your post
with some info about your current "ride". A little information about the
local characters here makes life a little interesting. If it is seriously
off-topic, or if no one is interested, then the thread will die a natural
death.
For my part:
Various TSD rallies in the snow and mud of northern Ontario.
Autocrossed a stripped out '81 Scirocco in my "formative" years. Collected
absolutely no trophies, but did amass an impressive pile of broken VW parts
and learned how to rebuild and transplant a motor.
Current "reliable" transportation is a mundane Corolla GTi. Current
"project" car is a Fiat Spyder.

Uhmmm, don't think so, but who knows, Jan is kind of guy who might just
do something like that, but if it wasn't a FORD, it wasn't him :-)

Er... Jim, as Tony pointed out, I was talking about the real world.
Amusing mistake however.

Hi Stephen - I've only done one Solo2 so far this year, a several years ago
I was more involved with it, attending events in Montreal, Sanair (east of
Montreal), Cornwall, Ottawa - and oh yes, I participated in the SCCA Solo2
national tour event in Boston twice, ummm... attended a racing school on the
road course at Sanair (using one's own car, not FFord), the Yokohama Solo2
school down in the States, and have occasionally helped out as an instructor
for our local Solo2 schools. I started autocrossing a '90 Civic SI, then
switched to an '85.5 Porsche 944, and will hopefully get a Miata when the
new more powerful ones are released for 2001. No project cars - I went
through my skinned greasy knuckle stage many years ago with bikes. <g>
...so, very limited experience compared to some here, but it's great to
dance with a car at the limit even it's only for 40 - 50 seconds at a time!
