Not really, I just lost my ICR2 cd, it's reeeeeeeeaally annoying...
So I had to get the demo downloaded and play that, how sad is that?
By the way, have any of you gpl racers tried ICR2 after you're 'capable'
with gpl? You feel a lot more in ICR2 than you used to... Perhaps Papy was
as good back then as they are now... but just working within what they
had...
It does make you wonder what papy would of given us by now had they the
money backing, and the time and equipment....

From what a few of the more learned sim-racers have told...(in confidence)
:) There is a fair amount of ICR2 in GPL. I won't even attempt to
figure out what's what with that...but, I CAN say this: The KINK at Road
America used to eat me alive. I couldn't get through that with the throttle
flat to save my sole.
But the other day I loaded up the new Reynard body and put some negative
camber in the rear wheels and whoosh! Kept the pedal mashed all the way to
Canada Corner.(don't ask my time...I suck even in ICR2)

(ICR2) (now that I have a fast enough system to run the Windows version
smoothly, I don't have to mess with the DOS world anymore). After
turning a few laps, it surprised me how good ICR2 still felt. There is
a DEFINITE lineage between the ICR2 engine and the GPL engine -- I hope
that Crammond's coup with GP2.5 gives Papy some ideas . . . a D3D patch
would make CART Racing (ICR2) VERY re-marketable, I would think. Plus,
since Papy has some relationship with IMS through the N3 licensing,
maybe they could produce a combined IRL/CART sim (THAT may be the
closest we get to "reunification" in the next year or so, but it's a
start!). <G>
If any of you haven't tried ICR2 lately, give it a shot. It's a VERY
pleasant blast from the past.

Man, I loved that sim. Still have the windows version in it's original box
sitting on my bookshelf. I really should load that puppy back up and give it
a spin, too bad can't run the 3d accellerated version now, as my rendition
card is long gone.
" Hi, this is Paul Page, this is Indy Car Racing II""
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Great sim!

Very nice point Tim. Each time I run Icr2, it grows on me more and more.
Even with all the limitations it has, it has aged very well. The car
"feeling" in Icr2 is very similar to GPL. Try to hotlap at Mid-Ohio and
push the car over it's limit at the keyhole corner (T2). I drool thinking
of how this corner would be in a new version using the new game engine by
Papyrus.
They were indeed as good as they are now. Some people complained about the
icy feeling, but that's what I actually love more to it. There ain't no
wheel spin or locked brakes, so such feeling was the best alternative to
model the feeling of those cars. How many time do you counter-steer exiting
slow corners?
Icr2 like GPL is all about keeping the most power exiting corners.
