HI! We will for the first time play GPL over a LAN next weekend... I just wanted to know if there was anything special to know about it. I mean, we have the same release version, the same patches applied, and the core.ini should be the same. But we put on different "add-ons" each other (for example, I used The Pits superpatch, but my brother didn't see the point of it- though I see it!). So do you thinkl that could cause any problem at all? I know this qwestion can seem a bit odd, but when you install a LAN just for 1 day of fun, you dont want to be stuck at downloading stuff over the Internet, or spending a couple of hour trying to figure out why the hell THAT machine cannot connect in GPL. Thanks in advance! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I've played ouver our home LAN without any problems whatsoever. One machine using Windows NT 4 (Spk3), the other Win98. Both Core.inis and GPL versions are the same (1.2). Runs like a charm. If you have any problems, I believe Allison Hine has a good-working core.ini file optimized for LAN play. That might be worth a look (forgive me, but the only URL I've got doesn't work, and I know there's a new one). You shouldn't have a problem as-is with all machines using the 1.2 patch... I hope you dont have any problems, Ill trying this stuff in about two weeks with some friend members of a local solo racing club, and plan to connect about 8-10 machines. If you experience some problems please post some info here, so I dont spoil it down here!.
